Osmosys is a bone substitute which enhances colonization of cells and permits the best revascularization.
The manufacturing process used guarantees an excellent interconnected porosity ranging from 60% to 80% with a macropore size ranging from 200 to 500 µm (compatible with human bone-cell size). The associated micropores of 5 µm allow the penetration of the fluids and the nutrients.
Our ceramic offers excellent integration in both cortical and cancellous bone.
- After 6 weeks: Osteoconduction
Due to the interconnected macroporosity, the new bone formation moves from the surface to the center of the graft.
- After 12 weeks: Osteointegration
Complete invasion of the graft by the osseous tissue, which covers the surface without fibrous interposition.
Macro-pores are entirely filled by the bone. Fragments of ceramic are detached and also integrated.
- Resorption - Remodeling
Resorption of the ceramic: Clastic activity against the ceramic; Intense phagocytic activity of the macrophages loaded with exogenous material.
Bone remodeling: The osteoclasts destroy the initial immature bone; the osteoblasts deposit the new bone.
- Several packages: (5cc, 10cc, 16cc and 24cc) are available to optimize the quantities needed during the surgical procedure.
