The PASS® System is specifically designed to ease correction maneuvers in long deformity cases.

Adequate reduction can be achieved without using distraction, by evenly distributing the forces applied to both rods at the same time. The rods have been pre-bent to the desired curve in the correct sagittal plane. Progressive reduction of the deformity is achieved by alternately tightening all the nuts on both rods at the same time. By performing a gentle tightening of the nuts, the translation force is evenly distributed over all the anchors preventing excessive stress on the pedicles of the vertebrae; thus reducing the risk of breakage.
